Here to Walk With You Every Step of the Way

Hi, I’m Stephanie, founder of the Mum Love Method.

I’m a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist with over 17 years of experience helping women feel strong, confident, and empowered in their health journeys.

I’m also a mum of two, and I’ve walked my own path when it comes to health. Before becoming a mum, I became a Personal Trainer through TAFE in 2007 and completed my Bachelor in Nutrition from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2013, but despite those qualifications, I still struggled with my own health.

I battled body image issues and low confidence, swinging between extremes, from emotional eating to restricting food, from no fitness at all to exercise burnout. I know firsthand how easy it is to fall into patterns of restriction, guilt, punishment and avoidance.

Back then, I didn’t see the bigger picture. I thought it was “normal” to have regular bouts of sickness, recurring UTIs, constant anxiety, and weight that seemed to yo-yo no matter what I did. I didn’t realise how much my approach to health was quietly wearing me down.

A Different Path to Health

When I became a mum, my first goal was to “lose the baby weight and get skinny”, something I’d been chasing for years. I feel embarrassed admitting that, but it’s the truth, and over time I’ve learnt that most women carry these same unrealistic and unhealthy goals.

I did lose the weight, but I quickly realised that reaching that goal didn’t magically fix my confidence, I just found something else to criticise.

One day, while cleaning with my little bub close by, I found a photo of myself from 10 years earlier. I remembered feeling insecure and unattractive in that moment, yet looking at the photo, I saw a beautiful young woman.

I looked at my baby and it hit me: if I wanted my children to be kind to themselves, have a healthy body image, and take care of their wellbeing, I had to learn to do the same. I decided then and there that I was choosing a different path for my health.

Strong and Nourished

That “click” moment shifted everything. I committed to caring for myself from a place of appreciation for my body — not because I felt broken or unworthy. And I realised what I truly wanted was a healthy life, not a smaller body.

This wasn’t an overnight transformation. I’m still undoing decades of programming around beauty standards, still learning to listen to my body’s needs and speak kindly to myself. But my first big shift was simple: I stopped bullying myself and started seeing health through the lens of longevity.

I realised that being strong, nourishing our bodies, and supporting our nervous systems are the real cornerstones of self-care.

I started lifting weights and became serious about building strength. I began to see food as fuel and stopped being afraid of calories. I took responsibility for my mental health and worked on developing a supportive, resilient mindset. I never could have guessed the impact these changes would have on my life.

My health turned around in ways I can hardly put into words. At 38, I feel healthier than I did in my 20s, full of energy, able to run around with my kids, rarely getting sick, and equipped to manage the emotions that come with everyday life.

I’m also aware of how easy it is to slip back into old patterns, especially with the stress of motherhood, juggling endless demands, and feeling pulled in every direction. I definitely don’t get it right all the time. Just like my clients, I’m on the journey too, recommitting to my health each and every day.

The Real Struggles Mums Face

Motherhood taught me how essential, and how challenging, self-care is for mums. It’s one of the most important things we need to survive this crazy and magical journey. Taking care of ourselves helps us feel like us again, and it’s what allows us to show up well for our families, yet it’s often the hardest thing to prioritise.

Many women enter motherhood without ever learning the true essentials of health. Add a new baby, conflicting advice, and unrealistic expectations, and it’s no wonder so many mums feel overwhelmed when it comes to their wellbeing.

Most mums I meet want to take better care of themselves and know it matters, but they don’t know where to start. They have good intentions, but when energy is low and life feels relentless, it’s easy to slip into survival mode. That can look like using food for comfort or to numb stress, skipping movement because you’re already exhausted, and slowly losing the strength, fitness, and confidence you once had.

Over time, this often shows up as constant fatigue, low immunity, struggling mental health, and a growing sense of frustration with yourself, not because you don’t care, but because you just can’t seem to find a way forward.

Many of the mums I work with start here: tired, discouraged, and wondering if they’ll ever feel like themselves again.

Feeling Good Within Yourself Is Possible, and It’s Simpler Than You Think

If that’s where you are right now, you’re not alone. And here’s the good news: after working with hundreds of mums, I know it’s possible for every woman to take back control of her habits, improve her health, build confidence, and feel good in her own skin.

Through my own journey, I developed a method that works, and over the past few years, I’ve seen it transform the lives of so many mums.

The Mum Love Method isn’t a quick fix or another rigid program you have to squeeze into your life. It’s about helping you:

  • Gain confidence in your ability to create and keep healthy habits

  • Build a healthy mindset of self-compassion paired with resilience and grit

  • Discover what health looks like for you and what it means to truly embody it as a way of life

  • Create supportive systems and routines that make caring for your health simple and sustainable

It’s about becoming your own coach so you can stay flexible, break the cycle of yo-yoing, and finally feel at home in a healthy lifestyle that works for you.

You Deserve to Feel Strong & Supported

Learning to care for your health in this way isn’t complicated, in fact, it’s incredibly simple. That doesn’t mean it’s always easy. Prioritising yourself consistently means not giving up on yourself through the ups and downs. Motherhood will test you, but facing those challenges is what builds true mental strength.

It’s also one of the most powerful gifts you can give your children. As you care for your body and mind, you show them how to do the same. You lead by example.

And you don’t have to do it alone.

With the right tools, genuine support, and a community that truly gets it, you’re unstoppable.

This is my why, the reason I created the Mum Love Method. I’ve experienced firsthand the impact that taking care of myself has had on my health, my mindset, and my parenting. And I know it’s possible for every mum.

Today, with two energetic boys, I’m grateful every day for the strength and confidence my health gives me, and I can’t wait to show you it’s possible for you, too.

If you’re ready to start feeling like yourself again — stronger, healthier, and more confident — I'd love to guide you - and cheer you on - each step of the way.
